3 Different LAPP Cable Series Explained

The LAPP brand started with a question. How could the future of electricity and interconnectedness be safer? This came from the goal to make the first industrially -produced flexible control cable. This series of cables is still produced by LAPP and its beginnings were during the 50s.

Since then LAPP has had no manual insertion of single cores and also switching of strands. The first expansion of the brand occurred during the early to mid-60s and it triggered the international domination of LAPP which start in 1976. From 1996 to 2005 LAPP was a global company and today it has become a leader as a system supplier too.

Classic 100

The Classic 100 is a multiconductor control cable that comes with LAPP's special PVC compound insulation. This makes it slim and light while being able to withstand temperatures as high as 80°C. The outer sheath of this quality LAPP cable is also made of PVC which makes it more flexible than most other electrical cables. You can use the Classic 100 in dry or damp rooms with exposure to medium mechanical loads.

Classic 110

You can make use of the Olflex Classic 110 for machine engineering, at a power station, for air conditioning installations and more. The 110 has a small outer diameter of 4.8 mm and it's silicone-free which means it's usable in paint shops. You can expect the Olflex Classic 110 to last in torsional applications such as wind turbine generators.

Classic 400

With the Classic 400, you get a cable that's resistant to mineral oil-based lubricants as well as diluted acids and aqueous alkaline solutions. This is thanks to its PUR outer sheath paired with PVC core insulation. The Classic 400 is also available as a DESINA-compliant power cable and thus can be used in CNC industrial machinery and machine tools.

Classic 540

The 540 is able to withstand extremely high temperatures up to 90°C and it's made to be flexible even in -40°C conditions. The Classic 540 is also resistant to hydrolysis and microbes while being abrasion and notch-resistant. This halogen-free and robust cable is made for harsh environments despite being available at small diameters.

Classic 550

With this Olflex LAPP cable, you can expect the same attributes as the Classic 540 but it's still not the same product and not just because of its name. The Classic 550 has high mechanical strength and good oil resistance since it has a rubber compound as its core insulation. This HAR power cable is made with safety and visual perception in mind thanks to its use of differentiating signal colours.

Unitronic

LiYY

When you need a data transmission cable that can do it all then you should go for the Unitronic LiYY. The LiYY is a space-saving industrial cable that comes with braiding that minimises electrical interference while being able to be used in dry or damp areas.

LiYCY

With the LiYCY you get a screened data cable that is also made with tinned copper braiding that minimises interference and it also has a core insulation made of PVC. This makes the LiYCY ideal for instrumentation technology, office equipment, computer systems and more.

LiYCY (TP)

This is largely the same type of cable as the regular LiYCY that LAPP offers but it's a cable with twisted pairs. The difference here is the TP structure of the cable which makes the LiYCY as a package have good protection from capacitative interference coming from electric fields.

BUS PB

If you work with BUS systems then the BUS PB Unitronic cable is the one for you. It has a fast connect design that allows you to use it for PROFIBUS-FMS, PROFIBUS-DP as well as FIP.

DeviceNet

The DeviceNet is a highly flexible cable that is able to connect industrial devices such as motor starters, photoelectric switches, valve islands and PLCs. This is thanks to its CAN technology and UL/ CSA certification too.

JZ-500

This type of control cable is usable in applications with medium mechanical stress and no tensile stress. The JZ-500 has bare copper conductors paired with PVC core insulation and outer sheath as well. This makes it oil-resistant and chemical resistant too while being self-extinguishing and flame retardant.

H05RR

The H05RR is a rubber flexible cable from LAPP that is not only oil resistant but fat resistant too. This is thanks to its rubber outer jacket and core insulation that protect the bare copper conductors of the H05RR. You can use this cable in temperatures as high as 90°C and as low as -30°C.

JZ-600

Using the JZ-600 means you can have it exposed to oils and chemicals of any sort without the need to cover it up when working with paint as it's a silicone-free cable. The JZ-600 is also UV resistant and it has a braided screen of tinned copper wires which makes it rather flexible in applications with medium mechanical stress and no tensile stress.
